Launch of first DIY project

This month I’ve published my very first DIY project, the Golden Gate(s, CV and audio) Bridge, or GGB for short.

The GGB is a project that began for me wanting to bridge my own modular set-up with an adjacent mixing, sequencing and sampling board that is just as much a part of my performance and composition tool as my modular.

My performance and composition set-up with my modular in the case on the left and my sequencing/sampling and mixing board on the right.

Every time I set up my system I would spend close to 30 minutes simply patching cables from my mixing, sequencing and sampling board to my eurorack. This was not only a problem for shows, but I was also finding it a block in my studio. That creative spark was usually gone by the time I had finished plugging everything in.

The off-the-shelf options I found were great for interfacing modular with other modular, but I couldn’t justify the spend for something that wouldn’t 100% fit what I’d need it for. Hence creating the PCB, so it also fit inside a 1590A guitar pedal enclosure.

You can find more information, build guide, bill of materials, schematics and more on my GitHub repository. Feel free to let me know what you think or join the convo on r/synthdiy here. Add to your rack on ModularGrid here.
